It’s a privilege and honor to be selected for a consecutive term as the President of the Show-Me of Missouri Chapter of HFMA for the 2017/2018 chapter year! 2016/2017 was a great year and we as a chapter had many successes. The officers, directors and volunteers of the chapter will work very hard to make 2017/2018 just as successful as or better than the previous.
I want to congratulate the Show-Me Chapter membership and leadership for the many successes that the chapter earned in 2016/2017. The chapter was recognized at the HFMA ANI conference this past June with 3 awards including, Award of Excellence for Certification Silver and 2 Helen M. Yerger Special Recognition Awards. These awards and recognition are a bi-product of the dedicated volunteers that help our chapter function and succeed on an annual basis. The number of hours that it takes to make a successful HFMA chapter is staggering and without everyone’s support and involvement we as chapter leaders would not be successful.
The 2017/2018 HFMA National Board Chair, Carol A. Friesen, theme is “Where Passion Meets Purpose” which is a challenge for all of us as healthcare finance professionals to use our skills, experience and passion in a purposeful manner to positively impact the healthcare organizations that we work in or serve.
The Show-Me Chapter leadership and volunteers strive to be impactful to our membership through our passion for educating our members with timely and relevant information. The education committee is working hard to develop the programs and events for the remainder of the 2017/2018 year and we hope to convey a passionate experience for all of our members.
As a chapter we are always looking for volunteers or those that have an interest in providing their skills and talents to help us impact and grow the capabilities of chapter. If you are interested in serving on any of the chapter committees or see an area where you believe your skills would provide valuable input, please reach out to myself or any of the other officers or directors to discuss:
